Description

The door pictured above is located near the back of the Christ Church Cathedral, in downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.

The original door (or at least I'm assuming it was the original door) was replaced last year with this newer door. The detailing and colour are about the same as the original, but because there's no aging or weathering, the new door just doesn't have the charisma of the original door.

This photo was captured with a Nikon D70 (1/50s @ f/4.5, EV +1, ISO 200, FL 50.0 mm).

Oh, and two other notes:
@Patrick (aka moserArtist): I promised that my next post wouldn't be a tree, so here you go! :p
@anyone who cares: To date, my entire portfolio has been shot with a single lens -- the 18 - 70 mm kit lens that came with my camera. Well, I finally ordered a 55 - 200 mm VR lens for my camera! I'm pretty excited, and I can't wait to get out there and try it out.

Finally... ;)

There is hope for mankind!

Halleluja not a tree... not a tree... not a tree... la la la... not a tree... not a tree... :p

Perfect on the horizontal layer. Perfect on the symmetry and central position!

but where the f...k is the door handle? :o

Nice to see you diverse!

Way to go :)

Well according to Matthew 7:7, "knock, and it will be opened to you." Maybe that's what they're going for. Or maybe they just don't want to let anyone in :p

Nice work Trevor! These old churches really seem to like red doors. There's quite a few like this in Jersey. I almost shot one a couple weeks ago.

Congrats on the new lens -- getting new equipment is always exciting :)

@Byonder: "...getting new equipment is always exciting"
But not as exciting as getting a (new) girl. Congrats on your engagement! ;)

Good colors and details. Maybe a bit harshly lit but it does accent the door well.

I love the way you make such a strong contrast in colours really melt together. :)
