Description

A flower from my wife's flower bed, captured after a rain. I'm not sure what type of flower it is, but we've got yellow, orange and red ones, and they're quite pretty.

This photo was captured with a Nikon D70 (1/15s @ f/16, EV +1.33, ISO 200, FL 60.0 mm), a couple of bean bags (used as a tripod) and a set of Hoya diopters/close-up lenses.

Very nice close up and selective focus.

Nice job. Couldn' decide whether it would be better without the black regions on the right hand side, just the yellow flower. What do you think guys?

great picture
if i want to be picky ill say that you should correct the blue tint of the water near the flower center, but its a small détail :) +9

beautiful colors and details.
I would crop it a bit from the top to make it 2:3 (just my taste).

Nice job, Trevor. Impressive detail, especially given the equipment. I always had respect for 'low teck', and you seem to make the best out of it. Hoya close-up lenses, bean bag 'tripod' - thats my kind of "philosophy of life" :)

I recently bought the Tamron SP Di 90mm 1:28 macro lens. I cannot give you a detailed review at this stage, cause as much as I am dying to go out and play with it, the august weather here in Tempe keeps me indoors most of the time. But it has a good reputation, and I see that you can find it on line for $340.
