Description

This photo was taken at the same location as Once Upon A Time by  trevorm , but on a different day, and from a different angle. I also tried to go with a more "contrasty" image this time.

This photo was captured with a Nikon D70 (1/320s @ f/9, ISO 200, FL 18.0 mm).

Beautiful b&w Trevor!
I'm not sure I like the dark pointy thing on the left for it it draws too much attention to itself imo (it is so dark)...The tree I love ;)
My topmarks!

L-aura: great comment. Obviously I couldn't do much about the presence of the object, but I have lightened it, thus restoring some of the detail and hopefully making it less of a distraction. Thanks again for your comments.

Take a few steps back and you have a masterpiece at hand.

Just needs some space on the lefthand side of that beautiful tree.

A great work! The tonalities in this bw piece is just awesome!

;)

moserArtist & ARZILLIER66: good suggestion guys, but in this particular case it wasn't possible, as there was more farm equipment there (which you can kinda see in the grass near the left edge of the photo). Anyway, as always, thanks for the suggestions and kind words.

It seems to me that most of the impact of this photo comes from the contrast and the tonalities. It is very amazing.

This is an excellent shot! Too bad the situation didn't allow you to take a few more steps backward, as moserArtist have said. :) Anyway, it's still a great shot!

Beautiful image Trevor. It definitely has a feeling of abandonment or a sense of history.
Have you tried this in sepia or split toned? Might be an interesting experiment.

agree with patrick and laura. a few steps back and without that saw-like thing it would be great! but as it is it's also nice (but not perfect ;) ).
and i agree with ThruMyEyez...I'd give a sepia-toned one a try....

Trevor ! This one is brilliant work !
For me the black & white works & suits perfectly.. The exposure is kickass !!!
Don't mind the tree being cut ! Isn't hurting too much !!
Top Marks for the zones !!!
