Description

This is my first attempt at a panoramic photo, and I would like to dedicate it to my lovely wife and beautiful daughter. :)

This past weekend (March 3, 2007), I was out taking some more shots for my "Seasons" series (see The Four Seasons by  trevorm ), and since the weather was so amazing I thought I'd try my first panoramic landscape.

For this panoramic I took 21 photos, spanning 180° (but I think I could have gotten away with half as many shots). The photos were shot in portrait mode (to minimize distortion), with everything set to manual.

I used Adobe Photoshop CS3's enhanced Photomerge (which leverages the new Auto-Align and Auto-Blend features) to stitch the images together. Following that, I healed some minor problem areas, and added several curve adjustments to enhance detail and balance exposure from left to right.

Please view the larger version.

This photo was captured with a Nikon D70 (1/125s @ f/16, ISO 200, FL 34 mm), a tripod, remote, and CPOL filter.

aah .. now is that our tree from the The Four Seasons by  trevorm !!!
The landscape is really beautiful !!! So is the CS3's new pano capability !!!
Well done on getting the exposure correct !! Its is tricky with so many shots on an lit sky !!!

Another 4 seasons shot of this same pano would be a killing idea as well !!! :)

Welcome to the family of panorama shooters! :)
A very difficult task indeed to get the light and colors correct here when shooting on a bright and sunny day like this.
The stitching work looks very solid! I myself use The Panorama Factory which gives very good results too!

Just above the sun, near the border, is a visible sun flare. I would try to eliminate it if possible.

Around 2 trees just mid right at the snowline is a chunk of grey "cloud" or what?
Just curious so please enlighten us! ;)

Love your trees! They definitely represent you! The thumbnail was already a clear indicator that it was your post!

Nice, but for me I would crop the brighter tree on the right out. in fact I would crop out that clump of trees on the right completely..

Well done.

Beautiful shot! Leaving only one tree on the right would work even better IMO :) Great work anyways!

Lovely setting, clouds help to connect wooded sections that are on opposite sides of the photo.
